Terms and Conditions

Effective September 9, 2026 · Version 2026-09-15
About Brief Avenue and These Terms
Brief Avenue is a United States-based worker platform operating at briefavenue.com. These terms govern use of this worker-facing website and the application process. Contact support@briefavenue.com with questions or notices. By accepting these terms when creating an account or applying, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not submit an application or use an account.
These application terms do not replace a separate engagement agreement, statement of work, or mandatory protections that apply to paid work. Where an engagement document addresses a specific assignment, its agreed assignment terms govern that work, subject to applicable law.
Who May Apply
You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter an agreement where you live. Provide your true country of residence and accurate, current information. An application may be submitted from outside the United States, but submission or account creation does not establish eligibility to work or receive payments in every country.
Before paid work begins, Brief Avenue may need to confirm identity, lawful engagement, tax information, banking availability, and applicable restrictions. Do not misrepresent your location or bypass eligibility controls.
Accounts and Security
Keep your password private, maintain access to your verified email, and use only your own account. Do not share, sell, or transfer an account or create accounts to evade a decision or restriction. Tell support@briefavenue.com promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. Brief Avenue staff will not ask for your password or email verification code.
We may apply reasonable security checks and request appropriate evidence through a secure channel. Do not send passwords, full bank details, or identity-document numbers in ordinary email or application materials.
Applications and Review
Applying is free. Submit a resume, cover letter, and relevant work sample that you have permission to share. Remove unnecessary sensitive information and confidential information belonging to others. You remain responsible for truthful qualifications and original, accurately attributed materials.
We aim to provide an initial response within three calendar days of a complete application. This is a review target, not automatic acceptance; a delay does not approve an application. We may invite an assessment, waitlist an application, request clarification, or decline it. Check your dashboard and email, including spam folders.
Original Writing Assessments
If invited, you must complete the role-specific original writing assessment of 600–900 words and follow its instructions. Do not submit plagiarized material, another person’s writing, or generated content presented as your own original work. Disclose permitted assistance when instructions require it.
Assessments are unpaid, fictional qualification exercises. They are not customer assignments, and Brief Avenue will not sell your assessment or incorporate it into customer deliverables. An administrator reviews the assessment before worker access is approved.
Your Materials and Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of your application materials and assessment writing. You authorize Brief Avenue and the service providers supporting this process to store, reproduce, and review them only as reasonably necessary to assess your application, operate your account, maintain security, and meet legal obligations, as described in the Privacy Notice.
Do not upload material that infringes another person’s rights. Ownership and permitted use of future paid deliverables will be addressed in the applicable engagement terms before work starts. Our brand, website design, and platform software remain owned by Brief Avenue or their respective licensors.
Paid Work and Weekly Payments
An account, application, or passed assessment is not itself an offer of employment, a paid assignment, or a commitment to a fixed number of hours. Engagement status depends on the actual relationship and applicable law, not merely a label in these terms. Any required engagement agreement must be provided before paid work starts.
Rates, scope, quality requirements, and relevant deadlines are shown before an assignment is accepted. Published hourly-equivalent ranges are not a promise that every assignment is hourly. Approved eligible earnings are processed on a weekly direct-bank payment cycle under the Payment Policy. Application launch does not mean the payout system is already activated.
Acceptable Use and Fair Review
Do not upload malware, probe or bypass access controls, disrupt the service, scrape private information, impersonate another person, harass others, or submit fraudulent applications. Do not disclose customer or other workers’ confidential information. Report security concerns privately to support@briefavenue.com without accessing data that is not yours.
We may restrict access to protect people, investigate misuse, comply with law, or enforce these terms. Where lawful and practical, we will explain material restrictions and allow you to request human review through support. Account restrictions do not automatically forfeit payment lawfully owed for completed work.
Privacy, Availability, and Responsibility
Our Privacy Notice explains how we handle personal information. We use safeguards appropriate to the service, but cannot promise uninterrupted availability or that every security incident or data loss can be prevented. Keep your own copies of submitted documents.
Each party remains responsible for its obligations under applicable law. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or restricts wages, privacy rights, remedies, or other protections that cannot lawfully be excluded. These terms do not require arbitration or waive statutory rights.
Questions, Changes, and Ending Use
You may stop using the website and request account closure or privacy assistance through support@briefavenue.com. Closure and deletion are subject to verification and any records we must lawfully retain. For an application review question, include your application reference, not sensitive documents.
We publish the version and effective date of these terms and will provide notice of material changes affecting accounts. Where required, we will request renewed acceptance. Changes do not retroactively reduce compensation already agreed for accepted work. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to the extent allowed by applicable law.
