Privacy Notice

How Brief Avenue handles applicant and account information, why we need it, and how to contact us about your rights.

Who Handles Your Information

Brief Avenue is the United States-based operator of this worker platform and determines how personal information is used for the website and application process. Contact support@briefavenue.com for privacy questions, requests, or information about the operator. This notice covers applicants and account holders on briefavenue.com, not a separate customer service.

Information We Collect

We collect account details such as your name and email, authentication information handled by our identity provider, country of residence, experience, skills, availability, resume, cover letter, and work sample. If invited, we collect your assessment response and review outcome. We also retain support correspondence, application decisions, policy acknowledgments, and relevant security and activity records.

Technical information may include request timestamps, browser or device information supplied with requests, session identifiers, and network information used for security. Our application rate-limit records use hashed identifiers. Infrastructure and identity providers may maintain their own security logs.

Do not include health information, full bank details, government identity numbers, passwords, or unnecessary information about other people in an application. Bank, tax, or identity verification details, if required later, will be requested through an appropriate separate process before paid work.

Why We Use Information

We use information to create and secure accounts, evaluate applications and assessments, communicate decisions, respond to requests, document policy acceptance, prevent abuse, and administer eligible worker relationships. We do not use application samples or assessments as customer deliverables.

Where a legal basis is required, processing may be necessary to take steps at your request before an engagement, perform applicable agreements, meet legal duties, or support legitimate interests in recruitment, security, and service administration, subject to your rights. We ask for consent when a particular optional use requires it. Acknowledging this notice is not blanket consent to unrelated marketing.

Who May Receive Information

Authorized Brief Avenue staff access information needed for their responsibilities. Service providers supporting the website include Namecheap for VPS hosting, Supabase for account authentication, and Resend for transactional email. Application documents are stored privately on our server; they are not public downloads or email attachments. These providers process information relevant to the services they supply.

We may disclose necessary information to professional advisers or authorities when legally required, to address a legitimate security incident, or to establish or defend legal claims. We do not sell applicant information or share it for targeted advertising. Application documents are not shared with customers as part of recruitment; any additional sharing for an engagement will be explained before it occurs.

International Applicants and Processing

Brief Avenue operates from the United States, and service providers may process information in the United States or other locations involved in delivering their services. Privacy rules may differ from those where you live. International access to this website does not establish that paid work is available in your country.

Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, those requirements must be addressed for the relevant processing. We do not claim that Brief Avenue holds a privacy certification or that every jurisdiction has been separately approved. Contact support@briefavenue.com for details about your situation.

How Long We Keep Information

Retention depends on why information is needed: to manage an active application or account, record assessment and review outcomes, respond to disputes or security incidents, and meet applicable recordkeeping duties. After an application or account closes, we review what remains necessary rather than treating closure as permission to retain everything indefinitely.

You may ask us to delete or correct information. Requests are reviewed manually and may require proportionate identity verification. Some records may need to remain for legal obligations or legitimate claims; we will explain relevant limitations. Backup copies can remain until their retention cycle ends and are restricted from normal use. We do not promise immediate deletion from every backup.

Cookies and Similar Storage

The site uses cookies and similar session mechanisms needed for sign-in, account security, and basic operation. These are not used by Brief Avenue for targeted advertising. Blocking essential cookies may prevent account features from working. If optional analytics or advertising features are introduced, we will update this notice and obtain choices or consent where required.

Security and Your Choices

We use HTTPS, access controls, private document storage, upload safety checks, and operational records to help protect information. No service can eliminate all security risks. Keep your account password unique and report suspicious activity to support@briefavenue.com.

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of information, restrict or object to certain processing, or withdraw consent for consent-based optional uses. You may also have the right to complain to your local privacy regulator. Requesting privacy assistance will not itself result in retaliation or a fee for applying.

Send requests to support@briefavenue.com using your account email when possible. Explain your request without attaching sensitive identity documents. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and explain any verification or lawful exception. Application and assessment decisions receive human review; the platform does not automatically accept applicants based solely on an algorithm.

Age Requirements and Updates

This platform is intended for adults aged 18 or older. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

We will update the date and version of this notice when it changes and provide additional notice of material changes where required. Questions can be sent to support@briefavenue.com.
